What is Macrobiotic Shiatsu?

The ancient Japanese people had their own way of treating conditions and making sure that they keep a healthy body using their own styles and techniques in massage therapy. They have been using it in the earlier centuries as their source of medical care aside from the utilization of herbal medicines, dietary plans, meditations, and physical exercises. There are various types of bodywork techniques in Japan, however the country is well-known for shiatsu.
Macrobiotic Shiatsu is a branch of Shiatsu bodywork that has been combined with a special diet, and philosophy. The therapy is great for addressing many various types of body pain that are commonly treated using the Japanese ancient healing art. The bodywork technique was created to focus on balancing and keeping the electromagnetic energy in check to make sure that the physical body stays in good condition in order for it to function at its optimum level.
The natural treatment was designed to target different types of medical conditions that ranges from simple and common ailments to health problems that are quite serious including early stage cancers. Most of the addressed physical conditions on a patient are commonly related to body pains such as back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, joint pain, including painful menstrual periods and headaches.
In a Macrobiotic Shiatsu, the treatment is similar to the traditional and commonly used Japanese Shiatsu, however it only differs to the conventional one due to the use of the macrobiotic diet. This type of dietary plan is low in saturated fat and rich in essential fats due to the unrefined foods used for the diet. The diet mostly consists of grains such as oats, brown rice, barley, corn, and other types of grains used for human food. Vegetables and fruits are also used as a part of the diet to make sure that the client is supplied with the right vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy and nutritional diet. Fish and soy products are also used for the Macrobiotic diet as healthy replacement for meat as a source of protein.
During the therapy session, most of the massage therapy processes are similar to that of the conventional Shiatsu where the client lies down on a floor mat. The massage therapist uses certain amount of pressures that are not too gentle yet not too forceful that are usually done at the body meridians located all over the human body. This type of massage work does not require the patient to undress as most of the techniques are done in pressing hand techniques which does not need moisturizers or lubricants for smooth and convenient manual manipulation. The therapist utilizes the massage techniques with the use of his or her fingers, thumbs, feet, elbow, palms, and knees conducted on specific areas of the body.
The focus of the treatment is to provide a healing therapy to both the inside and outside of the physical body with the use of the massage technique and the macrobiotic diet. Most of the clients who had tried this type of alternative health care are convinced and satisfied with the results.
